Hello Everyone!
I want to start with an apology for not having a video this month. Our family has been battling a nasty bug and it finally got to me near the end of the month and I don’t have the voice to record this month.
That having been said, it’s that time once again to take a look at everything that has happened in the past month! From major events, to product announcements, to amazing people providing great tips & best practices to help the Community, I guarantee there is something here for everyone. Let’s get started!
As always, there are a TON of amazing things happening and here is just a small sample of all the great things you don’t want to miss out on!
First up, the results of “Likes for Trees“ is in and this time we broke the record. The stretch goal was achieved and 45,000 trees have been planted. Big shoutout to the 14 Super Planters!

While this is a product update, I thought it was important enough to mention here. In a couple of days (Sept. 5th), the JSM incident command center is going to be deprecated. If you have been using Opsgeine, you will want to go read this article and see what you need to do to ensure this does cause any disruptions to your on-call teams.

Next up, Atlassian is providing additional methods for you to verify your domains. Be sure to check out the link in the article for all the details.

Continuing with DC, Atlassian has updated the name of the Microsoft Teams app to reflect that is works with Jira Data Center (since server no longer exists).

Next, Atlassian has added user functionality to their Cloud Migration assistant that will allow you to handled user accounts easier as a part of performing a cloud migration. You are going to want the check this out. I know if this was available back in 2019 when I did my first cloud migration, this would likely have helped make sure I didn’t have a first failed attempt!
Merge, update or deactivate users during your transition to Jira or Confluence Cloud
Next, a preview is now available of the new Jira Product Discovery handbook. Be sure to check out the link in the article to learn about best practices and real world examples of how JPD is configured to work internally at Atlassian.

I know that we don’t always cover Jira Align, but they have now released a new set of APIs that will allow you to configure a set of default columns so that everyone is looking at the same information and speaking in common terms.
View the same data in grid pages with column defaults
Moving over to Jira Service Management, JSM Chat (aka Atlassian Assist) is now in scope for information that is data resident compliant. If you have been holding off on using this feature because of this, you should really check it out!
JSM Chat - Now compliant with Data Residency!
Also, as a heads up for all JSM Premium users. Assets are now going to (as of the end of this month) start limiting the number of attributes per object type to 120. If you have more than that today in JSM CLoud, you are going to want to look at how you can break down your object types into smaller deliverables.
Assets for Jira Service Management cloud will have a new limit of 120 attributes per object type
Finally, Confluence provided the ability to transfer ownership of pages a number of months ago, and now the same is available for whiteboards, databases & smart links. This is great for those times when someone leaves the company and you need to designate someone else with the responsibility of maintaining your objects in Confluence.
