@Matthias Gaiser _K15t_ Thanks for sharing! Confluence, noted! 📝
I agree :)
We ❤️ Data Center
We are getting ready to upgrade Bitbucket DC, and our users are most excited about Auto-merge and Draft PRs.
Some of our users are looking forward to dark mode. However, I would caution Atlassian about saying it reduces eye strain; there are plenty of studies that disagree. For example:
Positive display polarity is advantageous for both younger and older adults
Visual acuity testing and a proofreading task revealed a positive polarity advantage for younger and older adults. Dark characters on light background lead to better legibility and are strongly recommended independent of observer's age. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23654206/
Dark mode isn't as good for your eyes as you believe
The shadowy display mode has leagues of fans claiming it helps reduce eye strain, lengthen battery time and improve sleep. But dark mode isn't quite the screen saviour it's made out to be. https://www.wired.co.uk/article/dark-mode-chrome-android-ios-science
Wait, is dark mode actually bad for productivity? https://zapier.com/blog/dark-mode-bad-productivity/
Hi @Eddy G thanks for sharing this! We'll definitely look into it
Interesting, @Eddy G
Have not upgraded yet but looking forward to signed commits
This is quite cool! Especially for people/clients using DC platform. We've got one client who's thinking of migrating Bitbucket from server to cloud, or just moving to DC so I might just add this highlight into 'pros' for staying on on-prem :)
Personally, I'm not so much into coding and DevOps, but would like to see JSM DC in the future 👀
We are also not using Bitbucket but would love to see a highlight video on either Confluence Data Center or Jira Service Management Data Center!
We have a large number of users looking forward to Dark Mode. This is especially important for our accessibility requirements; for some of our user base, the lack of Dark Mode was a large impediment to their ability to use Bitbucket.
Being able to set 'codeowners' is very nice; that's one that will be used quite a bit by everyone, I think.
