Dear customers,
We are excited to share an upcoming change concerning Automation for Jira (A4J) for Data Center. Going forward, A4J will only be available as a bundled plugin and will be referenced as Jira automation.
With the launch of Jira 9.0, we integrated A4J as part of Jira, offering you the convenience of upgrading either through Jira or the Universal Plugin Manager (UPM). We are thrilled that automation rules have become an integral part of your Jira experience, and we remain dedicated to making your workflows more efficient and effective.
In our ongoing efforts to streamline and enhance your experience with A4J, we have made the decision to solely offer it as a bundled version. This means that after the release of Automation for Jira for Data Center 9.2, future versions will not be available on the Atlassian Marketplace. However, you will still be able to access new features and improvements by simply upgrading Jira.
Despite this change, we will continue to support the security of our existing versions available on the Marketplace, ensuring you a secure and efficient user experience.
We trust that this change will enable us to deliver a higher quality product. By focusing our resources on the bundled version of A4J, we aim to provide a more integrated user experience, eliminate any potential confusion, and simplify the upgrade process. Going forward, we’ll communicate all Jira automation updates in the Jira release notes.
We understand that you may have questions regarding this change. Please rest assured that our team stands ready to provide support and guide you through this transition. We encourage you to reach out to us with any queries or concerns you may have.
Our primary goal has always been to provide superior solutions that help you automate your routine tasks, and perform better and faster. We believe this change is in line with that goal, and we are eager to see the improvements it will bring to your experience with Automation for Jira.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to assisting you in getting even more out of Jira.
Best regards,
Jira team
