👋 Community! Elana from Confluence Automation here today with a super exciting announcement: we just launched system rules that allow you to automatically generate default rules whenever a new space is created!
Have you ever wanted a new space to automatically have default automation rules set up? Well now you can!
System rules are pre-configured automation rules that require no manual setup. We currently only have system rules for notifying users about inactive pages, but we plan to expand it to other rules in the future!
When a new space is created, a rule is automatically generated to notify users about their inactive pages.
System rules are designed so that the components of a system rule can be edited – such as adjusting the criteria for what constitutes an "inactive" page or modifying the email notification template – but the core functionality of the rule itself cannot be changed.
You can view this rule in the “Rules” tab in your automation space.
And you can edit the criteria of the rule by clicking on the rule and the component you want to change.
When notifications are sent to authors about their stale content, we offer them the ability to enable a rule in their space that automatically archives their inactive pages. For example, lets say John receives a notification that he has an inactive page, he can either go straight to the page that needs his attention or he can be taken a rule that automatically archives his inactive pages.
If page authors enable the “Archive inactive page” rule, we will automatically disable the notifier system rule so users no longer receive emails about their inactive pages.
Thanks to Tonya Hu, inactive page system rules will be available for all Premium and Enterprise Confluence customers by the end of the week. We hope you find system rules valuable in your mission to always keep your content up to date!
We’d love your feedback so please feel free to schedule time with us directly here or drop a comment on this post 🙏
