Domain Migration (agilecraft.com to jiraalign.com)

G’day Jira Align Customers,

TL/DR;

agilecraft.com will become jiraalign.com on October 16th. Atlassian will be generating a support ticket for all Jira Align customers to track customer change progress.

We will update all Jira Align sites from the agilecraft.com domain to the jiraalign.com domain in three phases beginning on 17 July 2020. For example, atlassian.agilecraft.com will change to atlassian.jiraalign.com. These updates will have the following changes:

  • Metadata values for Single Sign On (SSO)

  • Callback URL for team tool connector OAuth authentication

  • URL used for site access to Jira Align

  • Email address that in product notifications are received from

  • URL of the Jira Align knowledge base

The domain name change will occur in 3 phases:

Customer Notification Phase (July 17th through July 31st):

  • Customer receipt of the initial community post notification

  • Customer Admin receipt of a Atlassian generated support ticket that will serve as a conduit for any questions during the week of July 20th

  • The jiraalign.com domain will become available on July 17th during our release maintenance window and it will be fully operational on July 31st for customer use. Please do not use the jiraalign.com domain until July 31st.

Testing and Transition Phase (July 31st to October 16th):

  • Simultaneous support of both the agilecraft.com and jiraalign.com domains from July 31st to October 16th

  • Customers who utilize SSO will need to update the Entity ID and Assertion Consumer Service Location in their Identity Provider during this phase

  • Customers who utilize OAuth for their Jira Connector will need to update their Application Link URL in Jira during this phase

  • Customers will need to ensure their email service provider trusts the jiraalign.com email domain at the initiation of this phase

  • Customers and their user base can utilize either the agilecraft.com, jiraalign.com, or both domains during this phase

Agilecraft.com Decommission Phase (October 16th)

  • The agilecraft.com domain is decommissioned during a maintenance window on October 16th from 9pm to 12am CST and will no longer be accessible

Summary of Changes:

Single Sign On:

  • Existing customers SSO configurations will work until October 16th

  • Jira Align supports multiple SSO configurations at once. Customers will need to modify the Entity ID and Assertion Consumer Service Location of their SSO solution during the Testing and Transition Phase

  • Testing has been completed on multiple Identity providers by the Jira Align engineering team to verify the SSO transition plan

  • A community article will be published and linked on the Atlassian generated customer support ticket with guidance on how to establish parallel SSO with multiple domains and how to transition to the new domain solution.

Jira (Team Tool) Connectors:

  • Jira Align team tool connectors authenticate via basic, cookie, or OAuth. Only customers who utilize OAuth authentication will need to make changes

  • Customers that utilize OAuth 1.0 authentication for their team tools will need to update their Application Links in their corresponding team tool for OAuth anytime during the Testing and Transition phase at their leisure.

URL and Server Authentication Changes:

  • The jiraalign.com domain will become available on July 31st.

  • The agilecraft.com domain will persist until October 16th, at which point it will no longer be accessible to users.

  • During the Testing and Transition Phase, users will be able to access Jira Align from either domain and see their changes reflected across both domains simultaneously.

Jira Weblinks Changes:

  • Weblinks are set in Jira based on the site URL configured under Jira Align Admin > Platform > Security > Server Name
  • The domain of the Server Name URL will update from agilecraft.com to jiraalign.com the first time a Super Admin rolled user manually logs into the site (username and password not SSO) or can be changed manually
  • As work items are updated in Jira Align they will change the weblink in Jira from the agilecraft.com domain to the jiraalign.com domain
  • The Jira Align team will be adding new functionality to change these weblink's in mass in an upcoming release so it is recommended for customers who utilize SSO to hold off on updating their SSO solution to utilize the jiraalign.com domain until the weblink functionality has been implemented or to coordinate an agilecraft.com to jiraalign.com redirect in conjunction with the SSO changeover

Notification Email Work Item link Changes:

  • The domain of the work item links for notification emails will be based on the URL set under Jira Align Admin > Platform > Security > Server Name
  • The domain of the Server Name URL will update from agilecraft.com to jiraalign.com the first time a Super Admin rolled user manually logs into the site (username and password not SSO) or can be changed manually
  • If needed the Jira Align team can enable an agilecraft.com to jiraalign.com URL redirect to account for any existing work item links
