Epic Grid Alpha Early Adopter Program Announcement

Hello Jira Align community!

I’m Jakub, a PM with Atlassian. I have the pleasure of leading the Grid project, working to bring you a new, more usable way to find and edit Jira Align work items.

We’re excited to invite a limited group of Jira Align customers to join the Early Adopter Program (EAP) for Epics Grid Alpha. This is the first look at our modernized Epics Grid experience built for speed and flexibility.

🔎 What’s in Epics Grid Alpha

  • Modern grid foundation: fast infinite scrolling, frozen header, and a column selector with an initial set of 19 fields

  • Filters: Name, ID, Owner, Tag, State, Customer, Theme and sorters: Name , ID , owner , State, Start / Initiation, Target Completion

  • Deep links for shareable views: create links that preserve context so teams can review the same view together.

  • In Alpha, we support only a global Epics Grid view.

Why Alpha? We’re shipping the core grid experience early so your feedback directly shapes what we deliver with next Epics Grid versions

Who should try Epics Grid Alpha

  • Customers interested in influencing the next Epics Grid release scope and prioritization.

  • Admins or champions comfortable providing feedback on usability and performance in short cycles.

  • Teams who live in the Epics grid today and want faster, more flexible browsing and filtering.

  • Customers interested in direct collaboration with product and engineering.

Program timeline and expectations

  • We gather Epics Grid Alpha feedback till the end of 2025.

  • Light commitment, we will ask participants to submit a feedback form, you might be asked for a quick feedback call too.

  • It is safe to try. Alpha runs behind a feature flag. It’s enabled per customer and can be toggled off by the environment administrator if needed.

How to participate

Fill this form, and we will turn it on for you. Note that Epics Grid Alpha is dedicated to test or sandbox environments. You will be able to turn it off for all or selected roles if needed. Once we turn on the feature flag, the new Epics [LABS] entry will be visible in the menu.

How to share Grid-related feedback

Feel free to book a meeting with me. We will have an opportunity to talk about your Grids needs and Atlassian plans. If you prefer async communication, you might use this form to leave feedback. Please comment and vote on the already created list of potential Epic Grid improvements. Create a new suggestion if it hasn’t been created yet (project="Jira Align", labels=NewEpicsGrid, component="Epics - Grid")

What’s coming next and where to follow the progress?

We are working on the Epic Grid Beta version, available for all customers. Here you can track it. Assuming we will not find any release blockers we plan to deliver the first Beta release around the end of December. In January, February and March, you can expect further Epic Grids Beta increments with improvements. Feedback from the Epics Grid Alpha will be used to prioritize improvements for incoming Epics Grid Beta versions. Here (project="Jira Align", labels=NewEpicsGrid, component="Epics - Grid"), you can track what improvements related to Epics Grid are coming when.

Suggestions in Under Consideration status are on our near-term roadmap and are coming in the next versions. For the suggestion in Gathering Interest status, we are building the business case and gathering more data in order to decide which one will help the majority of customers the most and should be scheduled.

After Epic Grid, we will work on Features Grid Alpha, which could be tracked here.

Enjoy exploring the new Epics Grid!! Tell us what’s great, what’s tricky, and what would make your experience even better.

Please add us (Honeywell) to the early adopters program of this. We're much interested to get our hands on.
