Hello Everyone!
It’s that time once again to take a look at everything that has happened in the past month (I can’t believe how many things I missed myself)! From major events, to product announcements, to amazing people providing great tips & best practices to help the Community, I guarantee there is something here for everyone. Let’s get started!
As always, there are a TON of amazing things happening and here is just a small sample of all the great things you don’t want to miss out on!
Frist up, unfortunately is yet another CVE warning. This one is specifically for Jira Service Management Server and Data Center. Please check out the announcement to see if you are affected by this, and take appropriate action to protect yourself and your company. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Management-articles/Jira-Service-Management-February-2023-CVE-2023-22501/ba-p/2257352
Next, did you miss out on Atlassian Presents: Unleash? It was an awesome event (even digitally)! @Rodney Nissen - ReleaseTEAM has created a great recap of everything that was announced. From Jira Product Discovery, to Jira Work Management for Free and the long awaited Dark Mode for Jira you will want to read through this to get caught up on everything coming soon to your Atlassian environment. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Feedback-Forum-articles/Unleash-the-Recap/ba-p/2272942
Speaking of events, we have already talking about Team '23 registration having been open for a bit now. But did you know that there will be Atlassian University Live training sessions? As someone who has done these in the past, I can say that the added benefit of being able to hear questions and answers from other students live is invaluable! If you are going to be live in Vegas, consider adding some live training to your agenda. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Training-Certification-articles/Live-training-with-Atlassian-University-in-Las-Vegas-at-Team-23/ba-p/2267259

Lastly, I have an awesome use case for you provided by @Nadia. You should read through this informative article that describes how to use a separate Jira Project as a “Release Center“ to manage all of your software releases. If this is something you are struggling with, or maybe you are just looking for inspiration on how to make your release engine more efficient, you should give this a read. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/Stop-losing-sleep-over-your-releases-with-Release-Center/ba-p/2261213
Want to keep up to date on all the cool things Atlassian has announced about their products? Be sure to read through these, then go check out all the others for your favorite product!

Next, Atlassian is in the process of rolling out a new “Billing Engine“ for the Cloud products. This will provide you with a unified interface to manage all of your Atlassian Cloud products within a single interface. Additionally there will be a new “Billing Administrator“ role added that you can use to provide access to the billing and manage subscription details while separating out other Admin functions. Check out the article for all the details on what is available now, and what to expect in the future. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Feedback-Forum-articles/Atlassian-is-rolling-out-a-new-billing-engine-for-cloud/ba-p/2277417
I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am about this next one! Coming soon (probably as of this post going live) Org Admins in Atlassian Cloud environments will be able to rename groups! Yes the request that has been open for almost 20 years is finally being addressed! Now, before you get too excited, there is a “but“. This will only be available in the improved user management UI, which hasn’t been rolled out to all customers yet. For those of you on the improved UI, rejoice you can now rename groups without having to create a brand new group. For those of you who aren’t there yet, don’t loose hope you’ll get there soon! https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Atlassian-Access-articles/Org-admins-can-now-rename-groups/ba-p/2276321
Do you love Confluence? Do you love using it for all of your scratch notes? You might want to check out and join the early access program for “Private Notes“. This new feature will allow you to quickly jot down some note without having to worry about restricting the access before saving it. First, is technically a product update, but it felt appropriate to point out that Project/Space Admins for Jira and Confluence respectively can now update an automation rule in their project/space without having to set the rule actor to themselves. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Automation-articles/Edit-rules-without-becoming-the-rule-actor/ba-p/2255333
Next, @Kristján Geir Mathiesen asked for automation tips in a recently Throwback Thursday post and there is a gold mine of great ideas here!
