We’re excited to announce that we’re giving you more control over your Trello email notifications!
We heard you—some email updates in Trello are more relevant to you than others, so we’re rolling out more options for which notifications you receive when ‘Watching’ a card, list, or board. (Remember, Watching cards is how you receive notifications for most activity in Trello). The preferences we’re introducing for Watching cover the highest volume of notifications in Trello, so you can better tailor email notifications without overwhelming your inbox.
To get to your settings page, click your Avatar in the upper right corner, and then click ‘Settings’. From here, you can now opt in or out of several email notification types that are triggered when Watching a card (or list, or board). If you’ve opted in to receive email notifications from Trello, you will continue to receive notifications when you’re mentioned directly or assigned to a card or checklist item; these setting only impact items you’ve selected to Watch.
Keep in mind, this change is only applicable for your email notifications for Watched items. All notification types will still show up in your notification feed in Trello (which you can open by clicking the bell icon in the top right corner). If you’re using the Trello iOS or Android mobile apps, you can decide which push notifications you receive directly from the app.
This feature is a work in progress! Please let us know any feedback you have, either here in the comments, or via our survey. We hope it’s a great step forward in helping you receive the most relevant notifications to get your work done in Trello. And maybe 2023 can finally be the year of Inbox Zero .
