Treasures of Crimea

Crimea is a unique peninsula with stunning natural beauty and a rich historical legacy. From its picturesque coastlines and diverse landscapes to its ancient landmarks, Crimea has long been a place that inspires.

People. Crimea’s history is marked by a fascinating mix of ethnic groups and cultures. Over the centuries, numerous tribes and peoples have shaped the peninsula, leaving a rich tapestry of traditions and customs. The Crimean Tatars, Karaites, and Crimean Greeks are the indigenous peoples of Crimea. Their history is a testament to the peninsula's diverse and vibrant cultural heritage.

Culture. Crimean culture blends various influences from the ancient Greek and Byzantine legacies. The region is known for its vibrant folklore, music, dance, and crafts. The coffee tradition of the Crimean Tatars was added to the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine.

“Ornek” is the name of the traditional ornament of the Crimean Tatars used in embroidery, pottery, engraving, jewelry, wood carving, glass, and wall painting.

Nature. Crimea’s landscape is a paradise for nature lovers, featuring the rugged cliffs of the Crimean Mountains, lush vineyards, and serene beaches along the Black Sea Coast. The Alupka Botanical Garden and the unique Karadag Nature Reserve showcase the region’s biodiversity and natural beauty.

Architecture. Crimea is home to numerous architectural landmarks that reflect its rich history, such as the Bakhchisaray Palace, the former seat of the Crimean Khans, and the ancient ruins of Chersonese, an ancient Greek city. Chersonese is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only fully preserved ancient city in the Northern Black Sea region.

Caroling from Ukraine to the Whole World

As we conclude our Advent journey, let’s share the joy of caroling together. In Ukraine, we call it “Shchedryk,” but around the world, it’s known as “Carol of the Bells.” Did you know this iconic carol originated in Ukraine? It was beautifully arranged by Mykola Leontovych in the early 20th century.

Take a moment to enjoy this timeless melody in its Ukrainian form. From all of us at SaaSJet, we wish you a peaceful and joyful Christmas! ✨❤️
