🐾 Meow there, Advent explorers! Jetty the cat here, ready to kick off our festive journey. Today, we’re heading to the beautiful Sumy Region, nestled in northeast Ukraine. Known for its quirky museums, ancient lakes, and one-of-a-kind apple trees, Sumy has so much to offer.
But that's not all — this region is also home to Oleksandr Krokhmalnyi, our Tech Lead & JavaScript dev-rockstar ✨ at SaaSJet. Let’s у his top tips and tricks, and don’t forget to check out the fascinating facts about Sumy Region below!
Pin Key Fields in Issues | "Pinning essential fields allows you to prioritize and keep crucial information easily accessible. Whether it’s due dates, priorities, or specific notes, having these fields front and center ensures you focus on what matters most." |
Use Contextual Shortcuts for Quick Formatting | "As a developer, I often highlight code snippets in task descriptions. Using keyboard shortcuts within the description field makes this process faster and more efficient, saving time when juggling multiple tasks." |
Optimize Your Workflow | "Tailor workflows to your projects. For instance, I use tailored workflows for different project types, ensuring each task progresses smoothly. Aligning workflows with your development lifecycle can significantly enhance clarity and reduce task switching." |
Use Dashboards for Insights |
"Dashboards help track progress. I recommend gadgets like 'Created vs. Resolved Issues' or try gadgets from the Time in Status app developed by my team to see how long tasks stay in each status. It’s great for spotting bottlenecks, improving team efficiency, and monitoring workflow consistency over time. "

Automate Repetitive Tasks | "Use automation rules to save time. For example, set urgent tasks to auto-prioritize." |
The Sumy Region, also known as Sumshchyna, has unique attractions:
Shelekhivske Lake: Known as the oldest lake in Ukraine, Shelekhivske Lake dates back to the Ice Age. Located in the forest fund of the Lebedyn Forestry, it’s a rare tectonic lake with pristine natural beauty.
The 200-Year-Old Apple Tree Colony: In the village of Krolevets, you’ll find an extraordinary apple tree that has grown into a colony! Spreading across 10 соток (0.25 acres), this single tree grows like a bush, with branches reattaching to the ground and taking root. Despite attempts to cultivate similar trees elsewhere, this phenomenon remains unique to Sumy region.
Sumy region is also famous for its ceremonial Christmas treat — панянки (gingerbread cookies), a cherished holiday treat baked in traditional shapes. They’re a delicious way to celebrate the region’s culture and charm.
