Hello Community
My name is Finch, and I’m a Product Marketing Manager for Jira Software. Ease-of-use, team productivity, and improving developer experience is a priority at Atlassian, and our engineering and product teams have been hard at work delivering what you say will make Jira better and help you stay in the flow. I’m excited to share a round-up of what’s been released over the last quarter, and provide a sneak peak at what we’re working on currently!
First up, here’s what we’ve released in the past few months:
You can now seamlessly interact with Jira with just your keyboard! Use the command palette’s shortcuts to find work, perform actions on issues, and navigate to key places in all Jira products. Learn more here.
Say hello to inline editing, more out-of-the-box filters, redesigned epic and version panels, and much more. None of the board and backlog functions you use to plan or track will be lost – just upgraded for a better experience. Learn more here.
Good news for organization admins: you can now make changes to any team within your organization even if you’re not a member! This means you can now add, approve, or remove members, change the profile header image, or even delete the team completely. Learn more here.
We improved how you edit issues in team-managed projects. Make changes to cards directly from the board view, and eliminate the need to open up an issue just to make a simple edit. You can also bulk edit the backlog for up to 50 items — just select multiple issues, right-click, and make your edits! Learn more here.
You can now get to your relevant issues faster by filtering for issues that were last updated within a certain time period (last updated means that a change was made to the issue). Learn more about the “last updated” filter here.
Open Confluence pages right within a Jira issue! With this embedded experience, you don’t need to open up a new window or tab. Instead, you’ll have access to the rich Confluence page editor directly in this Jira view. Learn more here.
Using smart chips, Google Docs users now have a way to quickly understand what Jira issues are being referenced within docs. Instead of displaying a long URL when you paste a Jira link, you can now hover to see the issue name and additional info about the linked issue. Get the integration here.
In our ongoing efforts to ensure the security of our users, we deprecated the Single Email Address field in Jira Notification Schemes for Jira Cloud. While this feature was useful for many users, it also raised concerns due to its unrestrained limits. Learn more here.
As mentioned, you and your teams will continue to see enhancements to Jira Software in the coming months and beyond, so here’s a little preview:
Flexible naming of epics. Use your preferred terminology for epics to create consistent (and SAFe compatible) naming in Jira Software Cloud.
Atlassian Intelligence. Stay tuned for AI-powered enhancements to how you perform searches in Jira and write issue descriptions, updates, and comments.
Bulk edit from the backlog. Save time by being able to update multiple tickets at once from the backlog
We’ll share more about these features and others as they’re released and in the meantime, we cannot thank you enough for the continued support and we look forward to hearing your feedback!
