Enhanced Jira board and backlog

We’re excited to announce meaningful efficiency and performance improvements in Jira Software’s board and backlog on Company-Managed Projects to help you and your team work smarter, not harder.

Not to worry, none of the functions you already use to effectively plan and track your work will be lost — just upgraded to give you a better experience. Alongside a fresh look and feel (that might look familiar if you’ve worked on team-managed projects before), here are some of the enhancements you can look forward to…

⭐️ Inline card editing

Update issue details such as summary, status, assignee, priority, and estimation directly on the backlog, streamlining repetitious tasks to save yourself time.

⭐️ Improved epic and version panels

We’ve revamped the layout and reorganized information, so it’s easier to scan your milestones’ most important details at a glance.

⭐️ More filters, ready to go

Quickly find what you need with more out-of-the-box filters so you can locate issues faster. Filter by epic, label, or issue type to search a busy board — plus an additional version filter on the backlog.

⭐️ Higher performance

Expect faster load times, smoother feature interactions, and refined visual touches across the entire experience!

That all sounds amazing — when can I get my hands on it?

We're about to kick off an early access program for which participation in the program has been finalized and enrolment is now closed.

Once we've addressed feedback from the early access program, we'll begin rolling out enhancements to all users. You can follow the projected GA release on the cloud roadmap.
