I know you can hide tickets marked as "Done" but I also assume it's not a good thing to eventually have 6 million+ tickets marked as done on a single jira board but all just hidden.

Surely it's not impossible to remove a ticket REGARDLESS of its status right?
Hi @Ethan Tai
I understand you want to delete an issue in Jira. I noticed that your site appears to be using a free plan. Those plans don't allow you to customize project permissions. It's also quite likely that by default some permissions schemes don't have a set role/group of users that can delete issues. Which means that free plans can't make the changes needed to unlock the ability to delete issues.
I'd recommend that you upgrade to at least a standard trial of Jira, this way you should then be able to follow the steps in Manage project permissions to grant a project role or a group of users the ability to delete issues within that project. Once those changes are made, you could cancel the trial and revert to a free plan if you wish.

Hi Ethan - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I agree with @Samuel Gatica _ServiceRocket_ - in most cases you should not be deleting issues in Jira. And certainly only give the permission to Jira Administrators, if at all. I delete test issues so they don't mess up my metrics for example.
Regardless, to be able to delete issues, you need to have the Delete issues permission in the Permission Scheme associated with the project.

Hi @Ethan Tai
Welcome to the community!
I wouldn't suggest deleting the ticket (you might regret it later). If you've got too many issues marked as done, it could be a good idea to start a new project and move those completed tickets there to "archive" them instead of just deleting them.
Best regards
