Description field template when creating an issue

Hi, 

Is there a way to add a default text (template) to the issue description field so that colleagues who create the issues can use it and not write a design brief for each issue?

I am asking for a company-managed project.

Jira Cloud does not natively provide the ability to create template text for the Description field in Company Managed projects.

You could achieve that requirement using a third party app - Adaptavist's Behaviours app provides that capability.

Note that while that app is free, a prerequisite to use it is the Adaptavist ScriptRunner app, which is not free.

Alternately there is a work around that uses a custom field and Automation Rules that relies only on native Jira functionality. That work around is described here:
