I regularly have instances where I need to link 10+ issues to a separate issue at the same time, using the same link type. For example, 10 Jira issues, with issue keys K-1 through K-10, 'block' issue A-1. Is there a way to link all of these in one step, or do you have to link each one individually, going through the linking process and searching for the issues one at a time and linking?
The new issue view does not allow this; you can only query one issue key at a time, so 10+ issues requires you to go through the linking process 10+ times. Up until now, doing a bulk linking was still possible using the link function in the Old Issue View (if you clicked on Link, you could copy and paste the entire list of issue keys from a csv into the query field and it would parse and find all of the issues and then create the links with one single click).
Now that the old issue view will be disabled, is there a way to do a 'bulk linking' or are we losing that capability entirely?
Is possible to linked issues using import CSV, you can follow the same guide from Jira Server to Jira Cloud: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/import-issue-links-from-a-csv-file-in-jira-server-740262715.html
That workflow creates all new issues but won't let you update existing issues to add links. In order to update existing issues, you have to have full Jira admin permissions and go through System Settings (see about halfway down the thread here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Whether-Jira-supports-updating-existing-issues-using-CSV-import/qaq-p/1008434#:~:text=Yes%2C%20you%20can%20update%20any,%2FExternal%20system%20Import%2FCSV.)
This does seem to work well for add links in bulk to existing issues, but is only available to a select few Jira users. It would be nice to have the ability to bulk link existing issues available more broadly to the user base (like is currently possible, but is being removed for some reason).
