JIRA couldn't connect to outlook.office365.com. Check and make sure the host name is correct and try

Sankhya Chattopadhyay August 4, 2021

We have received the following error message in our service desk jira project. We use email to case settings in our service desk project.

We couldn't connect to your mail server

JIRA couldn't connect to outlook.office365.com. Check and make sure the host name is correct and try again.

Have checked the mail audit logs and found the following details:

Couldn't connect to host, port:outlook.office365.com, 993 : timeout 50000

Can someone in this community please help?

Thank you

could you communicate with your admin/network engineer?

And check firewall etc. you can test via next command telnet outlook.office365.com 995

Hello @Gonchik Tsymzhitov

Thank you so much! It actually worked.

We engaged our network team and found out that DNS was not allowing JIRA to connect to O365.
