I need to edit the context on a locked multi-select custom field

I have a multi-select custom field, Affected Services, that shows locked in the Custom Field area of Admin.

This says that it's locked by Jira or a Plugin...I get the "locked by Jira" if it's a system field, but it's not.

How do I find out what is locking this field, how can I edit the context choices in the field?

I should also mention that this custom field was created for a Jira Service Management Project and is only used there.

Hello @Jim Smith

Custom fields that are part of the core functionality of a Jira product, whether that be Software or Service Management, may be locked. I think Affected Services is part of the core functionality of JSM.

Why do you think you need to change the context? What problem are you trying to solve?

If you need to change the options available in that field for a given JSM project, refer to this:

Hello Trudy,

Thank you for the reply! We need to add "Firewall" to the list of affected services.  I went to the link you supplied, this is what happens when I follow the instructions there...I can edit the field, but when I type in "firewall" no options are found and I cannot add that service.

@Trudy Claspill I've found the solution. You can add a Service in the Change Management project which will add the necessary option in the drop down.

Thank you for the help!
