How can I tell if a Jira custom field is used?

I'm using Jira Cloud, and I'm trying to determine if it is safe to delete a custom field. In other words, does the Screen field on the Settings -> Issues -> Custom Fields page show all the screens where a custom field might be used? Just using search?

I would search for all issues where the field is not empty.  This will show for sure how much it is used.
