Hi, I have an automation where when an issue is created and the request type is Argos, I create a new issue in another project with the same request type. We have a form that customers fill out when submitting the ticket relating to Argos. There's a description linked within the form so the Argos request type doesn't have a description of its own. However, I can't seem to copy the completed form over to the newly created issue. I think my form template ID is 5. I got it from the URL when I access the form template. I get this error shown below. It says can't find link because I had already deleted this test ticket. Please help. ThanksJira screenshot.png

Hi @Yvonne Lee and welcome to the community!

If you’re looking to copy a completed form from a submitted ticket into a newly created issue, Deep Clone for Jira can help streamline this process efficiently.

With Deep Clone, you can:

  • Clone all fields, including Jira Forms.
  • Automatically clone attachments and comments.
  • Maintain issue hierarchy with Epic/Tree Clone.

Since you’re already using automation, you can integrate Deep Clone with Jira Automation to trigger cloning when specific conditions are met. Read more on that here.

Hello and welcome, @Yvonne Lee
I am guessing you were using this step by step instruction.
Copy a Form to the same project and for different projects using Automation and API

 " I think my form template ID is 5. I got it from the URL when I access the form template. "

You may be able to use the smart value below instead {{issue.forms.5}}  if there is only the one form on the issue. 5 might be the form ID for the form in the project but not be the template form ID.

{{issue.forms.formTemplateID}}

You can also try logging this value and I expect you'll see an ID more similar to the one in the linked page.
