@Justin LaMont

Sprints are not specific to a Project. A sprint appears in any board — a single board or multiple boards — as long as the issues assigned to the sprint match the filter query of the board or boards.

If you want to delete the sprints which are no longer required, you may follow the below workaround.

  1. Go to one of your classic scrum boards. Make sure you have 'Manage Sprints' permission in the project(s) from which the tickets are being pulled into that board.
  2. From the Backlog page, select one ticket on the board and update the Sprint field with the sprint you want to delete. With this, you'll see that sprint on your board.
  3. You can click on '...' on the right hand side of the sprint and delete it.

You may repeat these steps until you delete all unwanted sprints.

Please note that delete is a destructive operation and there is no way you can get it back once deleted. So, make sure you are deleting only the ones are not being used in other boards.

Thanks to Vasilije form Atlassian Support, here are the steps to delete hard to access sprints:

  • Create a new project.  Select the Scrum template. And then choose Company-Managed project,
  • On the Backlog page create a new issue > in the issue click More fields > Assign the sprint you want to delete to the issue
  • Again, on the Backlog page, the Sprint is now available for deletion by clicking on the ...
