At a previous company, I was able to configure 2 boards under my company-managed project. We used one for issue intake (pre-backlog) and one for sprint management (post-backlog).
I am seemingly unable to add a second board to my project with the new UI. In /jira/boards I can click the "Create board" button, but I am not given the option to select my project (either under Project or Location). Other projects show, but not mine. I have no idea why.
Is this just not possible any more? Are we limited to one board per project?
Hello @Mike
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Can you confirm this is a Company Managed project?
Is it a Software, Service, or Work Management project? (Refer to my answer on your other post here for how to determine that.)
Work Management and Service projects don't directly support multiple boards. Neither do Team Managed projects.
Refer to this article if you want to create an additional board for such projects.
What type of project is this - Team Managed or Company Managed? Please look at the bottom of the navigation panel on the left.
If it is a Team Managed project you don't have the same option to create additional boards that you see in the navigation panel with Company Managed projects.
You can still create additional boards. Follow the guidance in this article.

@Trudy Claspill I just checked and turns out it's team managed. I had internally requested a company managed project, but there was a miscommunication and I never actually verified it. I suspect getting that changed will solve the issue.

Note that you can't change a project from Team Managed to Company Managed.
You have to create a new Company Managed project and then move your issues from the Team Managed project to the Company Managed project. Review this documentation for more information:

@Trudy Claspill Thanks - we deleted the old one and created a new one that's company managed, and all seems to be as expected now.

Hi @Mike
Is it also not working as expected if you create the new board directly from within the project as seen below?

@Mike Yes, that looks like a team-managed project, as @Trudy Claspill already pointed out above.
