can't add issue to Jira board/backlog

When I click create issue, enter text, press enter it says:

"Somethings gone wrong. Refresh page and start again."

I refresh page and do it again then same message as above.

What is going on? Is Jira down?

Found the problem:

We removed the user that happened to be the 'project lead'. So needed to go to project>project settings>project lead - add our new user and that fixed it

Have you tried clearing the browser cache/ use different browser?
