JIRA no longer properly directing customer portal logons

We provide a link to our tickets in an email that is based on the URL pattern:

https://jirasitegoeshere/browse/REF-123

but recently we've noticed that our clients/customers are now being directed to logon to the JIRA Software instead of the cloud. In the past, it used to correctly direct them to the Service Desk cloud logon...

How can we correct this?
