Today we have been cloud-surprised by this new field which seems it can't be disabled anywhere. It displays on every issue! You can do that with free cloud users, but as paying customers we don't want promotion be put between our daily work items!
We regard this behavior absolutely annoying and totally displaced there - please put your promotion stuff somewhere else (email or whatever or even better let us opt-out from this kind of SPAM), but please stop disturbing our user experience so unnecessarily! We try so save every row in the issue view, have only exactly the number of fields that we need there and moreover we don't even code with Microsoft Products! Who had that brilliant idea???
And keep in mind - these are exactly those things that encourage ressentiments against your cloud strategy to which we have been recently forced to!
Hello everyone,
Thank you all for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
I would like to share with you an update from our developers regarding VSCode.
It was posted on the thread below and also on the feature request:
Hi everyone, I'm a developer at Atlassian.
We are working on an update that will change the initial glance to be more generic and will allow opting out of seeing the glance at all.
Thanks for your patience!
In case you have any other questions, please feel free to post it on the feature request. Also, make sure to watch it, so you will be notified when our developers post updates.
Regards,
Angélica

The complaints from my team have started to roll in. I also notice that the Development field now is not displaying when it has information in it automatically. I have our screen layouts set to hide it when empty but that now seems broken. Any one else?
There is an issue that appears to be tracking this: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-75552

I agree 100%. This is completely unnecessary and confusing.
I don't even want to see an option for disabling it, just remove it 100% and we'll all pretend we never saw it.

@p0cket0m 100% agree, thank your for your detailed explanation.
@Atlassian, In the future, pack such unnecessary advertising messages into a mail. We also try to use as few lines as possible and never "sacrifice" a line for something that cannot be disabled on the administrative side.

Dear Angélica, my message is simple. Please stop that "glance". Remove it. Forget it. It does not only annoy your customers, it hurts YOUR strategy. Escalate if necessary,

That is horrible, how can I explain to my HR team using a business HR board process template what is this new field that does not bring any related value (they don't need visual studio) and they can't remove that field from the issue detail view.

I agree with all of the above, especially the paying customers part. Super annoying.

Yep. Throwing my hat into the "this is annoying" ring.
