Can a smart value be used to populate the Assignee field?

I'm trying to use a smart value that links to an Assets Object Key, or attribute, to put into the Assignee field, in an automation. The purpose behind this is maintainability. I haven't found any syntax that will work yet when the automation runs. Is this even possible?

Hi Steve

To assign something to the Assignee field, it needs to be the Atlassian ID.

So if your row in Assets, can be linked back to the Atlassian ID (which is also stored in Assets) then you can make that lookup.

So in Assets User is ot Type User.

So you do need to discover the Atlassian ID for that user, and then you can assign it to the Assignee.
