Is there any time limit to run postfunctions?

Hi,

after transition we realize a lot of postfunctions.

Is there any limit to end all of the postfunctions or they are processing one by one until the last is finished?

Can the postfunctions run e.g. 10 minutes?

Thank you.

Hi Milan,

there have been reports around in Community that post-functions might fail after a couple of time passed. Here for example it is described that after 60 seconds a timeout occurs.

The order of post-functions does matter but many of them can be re-arranged (except some default/system ones).

On Jira Cloud post-functions run in parallel.

Some more general information is to be found here in case it comes handy:

Cheers,
Daniel

Thank you for the information.

So we need to minimize time for each postfunction and minimize number of postfunctions at all.

I have additional question.

Is there any logging to know how long each postfunction run?
e.g. starts at 10:12:23,678 and ends at 10:12:23,993

Maybe - there is Profiling in Jira which measures consumed time of several operations.
I cannot say for sure if duration of postfunctions is >specifically< logged - feel free to check and try to test if you want.
