using Microsoft Azure O365 SSO to login to Jira Service desk

Hi, I am rolling out a Jira Service Desk (4.9) Server instance. All our current applications used the office365 authentication method through Azure. We were told to use the local AD FS instead as the Azure login method is not possible. I want to confirm if that's true and if not, is there a guide I can refer to set it up?
