not getting the jira notification on email

Major Yao July 31, 2024

I checked all the notification options on notification page of jira, but I'm still not getting any notification fromjira in email. I can see the notification by the 'bell' icon in jira, but not in email.

Could someone from the Jira team help on this? Is my email in the suspicion list?

Hi Major - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You should submit a support ticket to Atlassian to have them check their suppression list for your email address.

Hi @Major Yao

There are several reasons why you may not be receiving email notifications in Jira. Here are some steps to check and fix the issue:

1 - Check your Jira Email Configuration:

Go to your Jira settings and make sure your email server is configured correctly. A Jira administrator should ensure that your email server is up and running and configured to send notifications.

2 - Check your Project Notification Rules:

Make sure that you are included in the project notification rules. This can be done in the project settings under “Notifications”, where you should check that the actions you want to receive notifications for are configured to send emails.

3 - Check your Spam Filter:

Check your spam or junk folder. Jira notifications may be filtered as spam by your email provider.

4 - Check your Personal Notification Preferences:

In your account settings, make sure that email notifications are enabled. Go to "Profile" > "Notification Preferences" and make sure that email notifications are enabled for the events you want.

5 - Email Address Verification:

Make sure the email address registered to your Jira account is correct. There may be a typo or an outdated email address.

6 - Contact your Jira Administrator:

If you've checked all of the above and you're still not receiving notifications, contact your Jira Administrator. They can check system-level logs and settings to identify and fix the issue.

These steps usually resolve email notification issues in Jira. If the issue still persists, you may need to contact Atlassian Support for further investigation.

Hope this helps.

Thanks @André Felipe Rodrigues Lopes for  the tips.

1. My colleagues can receive the notification emails, does it mean the email server is working?

2. Notification setting is fine.

3. I have no notification in the spam folder

4. Go to "Profile" > "Notification Preferences" -  I don't see ' notification preferences' in this page. But from 'project and issue notification' page,  I have everything checked.

5. I confirmed the email address is correct.

6. How do I find JIRA administrator?
