how to get values from cascading select list and update another field without using any add ons?

i two fields cascading list and text field.

i want to update the text field based on the selected value is it possible without any add ons?

can javascript or html do it?

JIRA is a pluggable system. It's designed to be extended through plugins. I always find the request to do everything without plugins so silly.

If you are on JIRA Server, you might be able to work with Javascript; this is not supported though. If you're on JIRA Cloud, you will have no out-of-box options.
