We have secured our JIRA connection using SSL.
Since the new configuration the usual filelinks to our fileserver don't work anymore.
for instance:
\\fileserver\subfolder\test.txt
used to link directly within windows to the specific file, opening it.
After implementation of SSL these links are dead, they don't work anymore. Probably i need to make sure our fileserver trusts the certificate from JIRA, correct? If so, how to implement that? Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.
Best regards
Roel
Hi Isabelle,
We'd need to see a bit more of the error messages, and my recommendation would be to speak to your server admin since this seems like it might be more of a server problem than a Jira specific issue, but you can have a look at this as well:
It will give you a few suggestions you can use to troubleshoot your SSL.

Hi Shannon,
there is no error message at all, the link just doesn't work anymore....it used to work before our SSL implementation.
Please see the attachment for the way we used to have the filelink. Clicking on it would open a Windows Explorer window (or for instanc notepad when it was a txt file) and go to the file/folder specifief.
Now it's not doing anything. I am server admin for our JIRA server but i don't know how to resolve this, especially since there's no error message at all.
Thanks for your time.
Best regards

No worries! By server admin I meant of the server and network itself, not Jira, since this issue is not related to Jira. You could also try reaching out to your Network administrator.
You may want to test this in several browsers, outside of Explorer. You may be missing a few security settings, such as the ones discussed on
Linking to Windows file server share UNC path not working.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Shannon
