edit the way linked issues are displayed

Hello, when I link an issue to another issue I get the following on my issue screen:

Issue Links

This issue is a test for:
IPE-562	Can add comments to discussion threads from view when status of document is delivered/closed/approved etc.			Delete this link
IPE-556	When searching PCPs - option Show VO is still available			Delete this link

I want to able to see who is assignee and the status for the linked issues. In this case I want to see if the tesst IPE-562 and IPE-556 is passed and who is assigned to them, just by looking at this screen, not going into each linked issue.

Is that possible?

I guess my question is, is it possible to edit the way linked issues are displyed in an issue?

I asked a similar question here: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/5444/display-issue-type-of-linked-issues-sub-tasks-on-main-issue and they said you need to update the template (instructions in answer). However, i'm still trying to figure out how to do that. I'm now being told we want to display the status as well. Hope that helps.
