can I auto popluate team field based on assignee field ?

assuming I have teams properly defined in jira teams app

I want automation to find the first team of the user and assign the issue to this team.

not hard coded I have many users.

In your use case what is your definition of "the first Team"?

Is that based on alphabetic sorting of the team names?

Sorting by the underlying unique id?

As my collegues @Trudy P Claspill & @Tinker Fadoua mentioned, the query is not quite clear. The Teams field is a in-built field in Jira and is used typically to assign a work-item to or a Service Request to a team before it gets by individual team members.. Its quite the other way around..
