Hi all, I've been working with Jira scrum and there's a feature I don't really understand. This dialog comes with some link types, one of them is "Relates to". I've been wondering what is the purpose of linking a related issue and is there any dependence between these related issues?
Thank you and sorry for my dumbness :)

Those links types and link type descriptions are really just arbitrary descriptions that have no real effect on anything by default.

You can choose to make your own (Under "Issue Linkning" on the Issue admin menu) You write whatever text you want for the inbound and outbound link type descriptions.

That said, via various apps/automation tools you can choose to do different things based on the link type. But that is up to you to implement and will depend on what you want in your environment. IE, there is no difference between an issue that is "Relates to" or "is blocked by" unless you choose to make one.

Thank you so much Andrew, that's quite clear to me now.
