Using Jira for Exit Survey

Seema Sharma

Hello,

I am looking for some guidance on how to use Jira for Exit Survey. I have been using MS Forms, however, due to Jira's automatic dashboard availability, I am inclined toward trying this if it's possible. Can I use Jira forms and if that is the option, how would the metrics be available for the forms we design inside Jira. I can only see metrics available through components.

Hey @Seema Sharma ,

You could probably build something like this in Jira by using forms (or in JSM by using its version of forms) 👀

Now, to create some kind of report on those (at least directly in Jira), you would need to link those form fields to Jira fields. In Jira (not JSM), that's already the case, so you should be okay there.
This is due to the fact that reports can only pull data from Jira fields, as you've already probably discovered.

Related to reports, are you trying out the new Home Dashboards experience or old dashboards?
I'd say Home Dashboards are relatively limited and are still missing some options and support for all types of fields.

Jira dashboards and native gadgets are also 'tricky,' and a lot of customers use Marketplace solutions to 'boost up' reporting. 📊

Now, by the tags from your question, it seems you're on the Enterprise plan. If so, this plan does have Atlassian Analytics app, which is quite powerful, and you can build advanced and complex reports with SQL. 👈 If you've got this, you can probably create any report you like.
You could reach out to your Atlassian Org admin (internally) to check with them and learn more about this.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Tobi
