Has anybody been able to set a user-picker field to default to the currentUser() on the JSM portal exactly like the native 'Raise this request on behalf of' field does?

We want to make this same functionality available to all users (not just JSM agents). Our current solution is 2 parts (1st, tell me if you're raising a request for yourself or for someone else, 2nd if someone else, select the user) but I would love to replicate the native functionality if at all possible.

I found a feature request but considering it's from 2014 and has 30 votes I don't expect Atlassian is even aware of it.

Hi @Mathew Lederman

This can't be done.

A user picker field, can only be set to a user in the system.

The reference currentuser() in the system define the user currently logged in a session.

And as you mentioned the open feature request is not likely to be fulfilled in the near future.

Unfortunate, but that's what I expected.
