I came across this helpful post: Update a field value based on the parent issue same field value updated

instead I am looking to update my child issues (a)Affected Version field with the values of my Parent/Epics (b)Fix Version Field. Is this possible with Jira automation set/

copy function?

Hello @vaughan_dickson

Yes this is possible.

In the Edit Issue action add the Affected Versions field. Then select the COPY option.

Then click in the text displayed in the field. This will give you a pop-up that lets you select the issue you want to copy from (Epic Issue) and the field you want to copy from (Fix Versions).

Hi @vaughan_dickson,

Sure. In your edit issue action, select the Affects version field to be updated and then select copy > Fix Version from trigger issue as you can see here:

Hope this helps!

(you can replace trigger issue by parent issue if that fits your use case)
