Trying to Configure Jira (Cloud) to send emails on behalf of my domain... problems though.

So I am trying to follow this tutorial on how to configure Jira Service Desk on the cloud to send emails on the behalf of my domain.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/configuring-jira-cloud-to-send-emails-on-behalf-of-your-domain-900996548.html

I get to the point in the tutorial where it says " Domain verification - Verify your domain. This will confirm that you own the 'Project Email Address' domain."

So I get to this tutorial from that link: https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/domain-verification-873871234.html#Domainverification-Verifyyourdomain

And then it sends me to this other tutorial: "Before you can verify a domain you'll need to have created an organization." https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/organization-administration-938859734.html

Which tells me to create an organization through the Administration panel. Specifically it says: "

  1. Go to the Administration area of your site.
  2. Click Organization, under 'Organizations & Security'."

I go there and under Organizations & Security the only feature I see is the following (screenshot taken from my instance).

What am I doing wrong and how to I get this to appear to continue? Is having Jira (Cloud) sending emails on behalf of my domain EXCLUSIVELY to sign up for this "Atlassian Access" now?

Because that appears to be the only option on that page.

Guidance to how to can have my Jira (Cloud) instance send emails on behalf of my domain would be GREATLY appreciated!

Bless and best regards,
Cole Evans :)

Additional information to help others help me: I have "Organizations" configured in my Jira Service Desk project but none of these have any methods to verify my domain on them. So I assume that these are a very distinct "Organization" from the Organization they mean for me to verify.

Sort of like "Organization-1" and "Organization-2"...?

Unless this works, which if it does any advice would be greatly appreciated! :D

Hello @cole_evans,

What happens when you click on "Continue"?

On my side, I'm redirected to https://admin.atlassian.com where I have a button "Create an organization".

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the super swift reply Manon!

Clicking that button does take me to a page to create an organization and the screen appears to be the same one as in the tutorial!

Although, does this mean to unlock this feature I need to subscribe for "Atlassian Access"? (It's always just a concern bringing up any long term money commitments because I am not in charge of money matters, so I just verify before continuing on.)

Thank you kindly by the way! Greatly appreciate it!

Glad it helped! Organizations and domain verifications are independent from Atlassian Access. See here:

Once you create an organization and verify your domains, all the Atlassian accounts with email addresses from those domains become managed by your organization.

You can then subscribe to Atlassian Access to apply security policies over all those managed accounts.
