Time tracking - how to see and delete previous input?

Grace Montenegro July 26, 2019

I added to an issue a Time tracking data. However, I need to edit and do some corrections to the start date of it. Trying to do so, I added a couple of ones. Now, the issue presents three weeks when actually took only one.

This is my first time working with this tool. We started the project on July 5th and I have just added the activities already done, so we could have the whole picture at the end.

I read the documentation and tells that click on the issue and the log work, ...I did it but it takes me to the same screen where I entered the time spent. I have not found the way.

Thanks in advance

Hello Grace,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Basically, your time tracking is split into three entries:

- Original Estimate: The initial estimation of your issue.

- Remaining Estimate: The current estimation of your issues (Original estimate - time spent entries)

- Time logged (Time spent) - The actual work performed in the issue so far.

Per your description, it seems you would like to edit the date of one of the time Spent entries you logged in your issue. Is it correct?

If I have understood you properly, these would be the steps to edit the date of your time log entry:

- Navigate to your issue > Click to see the Worklog entries in the Activity drop-down

- Click to Edit the Worklog Entry

- Edit the field Date started:

Hi Petter,

Thanks for your response. I have read the documentation and now your response. I think the issue is that I am not getting the view as you mention it or I am not looking in the right place.

I go to the Log Work option (not the other way around Work Log). The screen that pops up is to add a new track, not edit option. I hope the screenshots are helpful to see my issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Grace,

Thank you for your details.

Can you confirm if you are using JIRA Server or Cloud?

Indeed, you are taking the steps to add new worklog entries, and not to edit the new ones. From the page you sent me, here are the steps to edit your worklog entries:

1 - Click on the issue key in the issue detail view:

2 - In the new tab opened with the issue view, Click to see the Worklog entries in the Activity drop-down:

3 - Click to Edit the Worklog Entry

4 - Edit the field Date started:

Let me know if you find any different screens performing the steps above.
