Send a notification for Issue Assigned event based on the group of assignee

There are several questions out there but they are all pretty old and may not be applicable. We are using the On Demand version of Jira. I would like to create a notification that reads like this:

"When an issue's assignee changes, if that assignee is in group Developers, notify x"

Is such a thing possible in Jira On Demand via Notifications or some other workaround?

normally it can do using listener but You can't add listeners in JIRA OnDemand. See

You mean - when an assignee changes, always notify x user. or sth

No - I mean, when an assignee is changed to a user that belongs to a specific group, notify x.
