Query works manually but not as Quick Filter

Hi,

I have a filter (JQL) that works as intended when run manually, but when configured as a quick filter (which is what I need), it does not - it eventually times out.

Could someone please explain if I do something odd here, is this expected behavior, or as I think, unintended?

This equals issues "Unassigned, not commented in 3 days";

((project = PROJECT AND Site = "SITE NAME" AND assignee is EMPTY) AND (created < 3d) AND issueFunction in lastComment("before 3d"))

Odd that it times out. One thing here, can you simply given it is to be used within a board?

assignee is EMPTY AND (created < 3d) AND issueFunction in lastComment("before 3d"))

Very odd. Yes, it is supposed to be used within a Kanban board.
