Normal text field to sit under people section of issue

Is it possible to have a normal custom text field to sit under the people column in an issue?

We have people that we want to name but aren't users of Jira so a user picker field won't work but ideally they would all be kept in the same place?

It is not possible without writing custom code. Such customizations are not allowed in onDemand.
