My Backlog and sprints have recently disappeared from my project view. Tried following articles like this one: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Backlog-Does-Not-Appear-on-Scrum-Board/qaq-p/258608, but I can't change anything that looks like its core Jira, all the modules say: {{Module cannot be modified}}. No other options listed for the plugin.

This sounds like you have had your Jira Software access removed, (but not your Jira Core).

Do you have a "boards" item in your menu?  Can you check your access rights?
