I would like to link our JSD cloud instance to a Confluence server instance and use the JSD knowledge base functionality to suggest articles/pages to people filling out requests. We use Confluence server to host our public documentation.

I have successfully set up an application link between our Cloud Jira instance and the Confluence Server(Jira Admin > Application > Application Links); however, when I goto Project Settings > Knowledge Base in our JSD project and select Link to a Confluence Space, the only application listed is 'System Confluence'. System Confluence is our Confluence Cloud site and not the Confluence Server site I linked to under Application Links.

Has anyone had any success getting JSD Cloud talking to Confluence Server?

Confluence Server: 6.9.0

JSD Cloud: July 2018

Atlassian Support advised that it is no longer (July 2018) possible to link JSD Cloud to Confluence Server.

There is a JSD blog post on, which reads:

We're changing how Jira Service Desk links to Confluence, and your service desk's knowledge base might be affected.

On 7 March, 2018, Jira Service Desk Cloud will no longer support links to:

  • Confluence Server
  • Confluence Cloud spaces hosted on a different domain

Why?

This change will help us improve how Jira Service Desk and Confluence integrate, and deliver you new knowledge base goodies in the future.

How to migrate

If your service desk is linked to Confluence Cloud on a different domain, you can export your space and import it to a new Confluence Cloud site on the same domain as your service desk project. Or, backup the whole site and import it to a new Confluence Cloud on your service desk domain.

If your service desk is linked to Confluence Server, contact Atlassian Support for help migrating to Confluence Cloud.

Give us feedback

If your team needs to link Jira Service Desk to Confluence Server, or a Confluence space on different domain, let us know on jira.atlassian.com.

Bummer. Connecting a JSD Cloud to Confluence Server would have solved a number of issues for us.
