Hello @Lee Street ,
I understand that you are not looking for a paid solution right now. However, if you ever need it I can recommend Timepiece (formerly Time in Status) , the oldest and leading "Time in Status" app in Atlassian Marketplace, which is built by my team at OBSS. It is available for Jira Server, Cloud, and Data Center.
Timepiece mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status or each assignee. You can combine the time for multiple statuses to get metrics like Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time etc.
For all numeric report types, you can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. For example total cycle time per kanban team or average resolution time per sprint, week, month, issuetype, request type, etc. The ability to group by parts of dates (year, month, week, day, hour) or sprints is particularly useful here since it allows you to compare different time periods or see the trend.
The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well.
Timepiece reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs. All these options can provide both calculated data tables and charts. And the app has a REST API so you can get the reports from Jira UI or via REST. Also you can export the reports in to various formats easily.
Visit Timepiece (formerly Time in Status) to explore how our JIRA add-on can revolutionize your metrics measurement process. Enjoy a 30-day free trial to experience the full range of features.
If you wish, you can also schedule a live demo. We will provide a comprehensive overview of the application and address any inquiries you may have.
Hope it helps,
Gizem
Hi @Lee Street
If your team is up to the 10 users than both add-ons will be free for you.
With Time in Status you can determine cycle times for the different processes.
All you need is to:
Also, you can read the article which describes some ways to get the Cycle time report for your issues.
Another way can be Time Between Statuses add-on which calculates cycle time based on these calculations. It all depends on the timer configuration, which allows you to set up how and when the app should count the time spent on a task between different statuses.
Add-ons have 30-days trial version.
Hope it helps 😌

Hi @Lee Street
You can try Status Time Reports Free app developed by our team. It is completely free and the limited version of Status Time Reports app.
This app mainly provides reports and gadgets based on how much time passed in each status. It also has a dynamic status grouping feature so that you can generate various valuable reports as cycle time and lead time, time in status, time in assignee, status entry dates and status counts, resolution time, average/sum reports by any field(e.g. average in progress time by project, average cycle time by issue creation month).
Here is the online demo link, you can see it in action and try without installing the app. For your case, you can have a look at Cycle Time for Each Issue report.
For further details, you can have a look at Cycle Time and Lead Time in Jira: Productivity Measurement with Two Critical Parameters article and Status Time Reports How to Videos.

Hi @Lee Street,
I'm afraid that you will not find free apps for this.
It might be worth considering an app that does this kind of reporting not only for you, but for your entire organization. If so, take a look over our Great Gadgets app, which offers all the gadgets you need for tracking cycle time as Control Chart, Histogram Chart or Trend Chart.
These gadgets offers also a Data tab with a detailed cycle time report:

Hi @Lee Street
The answer depends upon what type of project you are using and what you mean by "cycle time".
For company-managed projects, there is a built-in, Atlassian interpretation of a control chart which can show Lead Time and "cycle time" for the selected status values, and other criteria. In my opinion, that chart has lots of challenges, but it can work for simple boards / processes with little to no backward flow. To learn more about it, please look here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/view-and-understand-the-control-chart/
For team-managed projects, there is not report for this. There are many suggestions to add more reports, such as this one: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-20651
When you need better control chart, CFD, and process reporting / visualizations, you may need to either export the issue data / changelogs and build reporting outside of Jira or investigate the Atlassian Marketplace for addon apps.
I also recommend checking if you already have any additional dashboard gadgets from the marketplace that can do this type of reporting.
Kind regards,
Bill

Thanks for the prompt response, it is appreciated :-)
Its a company managed project. Cycle Time just the basic needs - How long an item takes within a state.
The control chart and Cumulative flow are poor :-(
Exporting data it is then
Thanks again
