We use Jira Premium plan in the cloud and need to connect to an on premise GitLab CE (version 18.6) - we need a step by step documentation for this specific combination. All tips & tricks we found in the internet is a crazy mixture from the last 10 years and all sorts a variants.
The gitlab url is accessible via the internet and currently has basic authentication (username / password)
Please advice!
Thanks much
Patrick
Hello @Patrick Vogt
Did you already find these instructions?
https://docs.gitlab.com/integration/jira/connect-app/
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/integrate-with-gitlab/
I don't have a self-hosted Gitlab setup so I can't run through the instructions myself.

We tried to find the key point, but didn't manage to resolve as gitlab and atlassian both do not offer a united step-by-step approach. Finally we managed to get through it with the guide from Alice Thomaz which we found after extensive search. https://medium.com/@alice_thomaz/integration-between-self-hosted-gitlab-and-jira-challenges-and-solutions-63fa8928fd2d - thanks Alice! Hopefully it's ok when we send the credits to her. We are not yet 100% finished, but seems we are on the right track now.
