JIRA 8 release date and JIRA Service Desk compatbility

Hi,

Is there any tentative date when JIRA 8 is available also, does JIRA 8 supports JIRA service desk?

Atlassian does not set public release dates for new versions.  

Typically when a major version of Jira is released (like Jira 7.0.0), Service Desk also will push a new version on or about the same date in order to continue compatibility.

However this does not always happen at exactly the same time, and I would not expect the older versions of Service Desk to be compatible with a major version update.
