Is it possible to create a workflow within a workflow?

I have a workflow with statuses A1 -> B1 -> C1

I would like to add a sub-workflow where if a certain condition is met, it would go from A1 to the sub-workflow 'a2 - > b2 -> c2' then back to the main workflow B1. Is this possible at all? If not, can you suggest any workarounds?

Hi @Tim Lee , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.

Yes, it's possible to have a workflow like this. I have an example in a customer instance where they have an extra verification subprocess.

So here, you can see the issue is opened, then you can have a flag custom field to say, 'verification required ' and then if that is flagged yes, you show the transition to the right-hand subprocess, otherwise you can just go ahead in the workflow.

Does that make sense?

You can also read more in the documentation here if that's helpful https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-advanced-issue-workflows/

Please share your feedback or ask any more questions if you want.

Best wishes
