Hi @Srujan kumar It seems like the default behavior of clone function ie. it doesn't copy the comments to the cloned issue. Answers on this thread might help you with solutions.

Hi @Srujan kumar,

I am Marlene from the codefortynine team.

In the native feature set for issue cloning options ther eare some limitations, which are covered in the following feature requests for Cloud and Server:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-5052

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-5052

As discussed in the feature requests Atlassian notes this is something that they plan on addressing in the future but is not available at this time. So looking into using an app is the way to go.

You can find a list of apps that clone issues at the link below, but I can verify that with our app Deep Clone for Jira you can clone comments and other clone comments and other advanced content by applying the following steps.

  • Select the issue you want to clone
  • Click Deep Clone in the issue's action menu
  • Select target project and issue type
  • Make sure to select "clone comments" in the Deep Clone dialog

Other possible solutions can be found in the Atlassian Marketplace using the following search: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?hosting=cloud&product=jira&query=clone%20comments

If you have questions or feedback about our app, don't hesitate to contact our support.
