Hello,

Jira recently introduced "improvement" called "Make quick edits to cards on the board". For basically everyone in our team this is not improvement but annoyance.

Often when one wants to drag and drop a card into another column the quick edit is activated instead of the card being dragged.

Is there any way how to disable the quick edits on boards in team-managed projects? I wasn't able to find any setting that would allow that.

Edit: Similar issue occurs when I want to click on the card to open "pop-up" with issue detail. By clicking in the area of issue summary on the card the inline edit appears instead of issue detail.

Hi all,

Thanks for leaving feedback on our new feature. We don't currently have the capability to turn off inline editing on the board, but we find this feedback very helpful for future iterations of our capabilities. If you have time, I would love to chat further about your feedback - feel free to schedule a time in my calendar using this link here.

Thanks!

Hi Petr - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I have not seen those yet. Can you share a screenshot or two?

Have your check your Apps to see if there are any add-ons that might be doing that?

Hi John,

here's how it looks like on one of our boards before and after clicking. Seems like this is related to improvement released on June 23rd (third screenshot).

I was hoping to be able to do this with Chrome overrides, but the structure of the page is so convoluted, it seems nigh impossible to figure it out.

This is certainly an infuriating feature. Hard to imagine anyone actually wants it.
