Our Special Collections department is hoping to remove the 'Request' button from our collection overview pages, as we are unsure where those requests go and are thus unable to field those requests. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

This sounds like it might be a customization of your instance. Can you provide a screen image for reference? Black out anything that is confidential.
Also, can you tell us if you are using Jira Cloud or Jira Server/Data Center?
